If we don’t train our mind, it simply cannot improve.

In this session we will discuss the prevalence of different diseases in the UAE amongst teens and adults. “How” and “What” you should and should not be consuming in order to prevent those diseases. Ms. Gilani will be giving out tips on healthy eating when eating out and the importance of exercise.

Preparing Your Child for University- Parent Perspective

Mrs. Jalodi’s master’s thesis was focused on “The Link Between Emirati Family’s Strategies And The Academic Achievement Of High – School Children”. In this session she will speak about her research which enabled her to better understand the educational environment of the Emirati families and the role of family in supporting their children during the high school phase.  Mrs. Jalodi is the mother of three high-achieving children, one who is a successful student at University of Toronto, Canada and two who are still in high school.

In this session, Ms. Shamma, a Rize student will talk about how the ADEK Rize Enrichment Program helped support and guide her successful transition from high school in the UAE to studying as a Bio-Medical Engineering student at Khalifa University, UAE.  Ms. Shamma will speak about the obstacles she overcame and inspiration and role her parents provided throughout her journey.

It goes without saying that in today’s fast-paced, overstimulating world, having strong executive function skills has become more challenging for everyone, especially for our teens.  Teens with ADD/ADHD and/or additional learning needs will need to work somewhat harder to acquire these essential and worthwhile skills.  In this session, we will explore:

Differentiating Using Learning Styles
